The TicNote Watch Records for a Day on One Charge, and Transcribes 10 Hours a Month for Free

The TicNote Watch Records for a Day on One Charge, and Transcribes 10 Hours a Month for Free

Six hundred minutes a month, or 10 hours, is the transcription allowance that comes with Mobvoi’s new TicNote Watch. The watch records far more than that. Mobvoi announced it on September 30, 2026 as a smartwatch that records conversations and phone calls for more than 24 hours on a charge and keeps up to 200 hours on the watch itself. It costs $249, or $199 during a limited introductory offer, from TicNote’s own shop and Amazon. One full charge of recording holds about two and a half months of free transcription.

Recording against the allowance

The arithmetic is short. Mobvoi rates continuous recording at over 24 hours, which is at least 1,440 minutes. The included plan transcribes 600 minutes a month, so a single charge can fill 2.4 months of it. The 200 hours of storage would take 20 months of free minutes to work through.

None of that is a fault. A recorder should hold more than you need. It does mean the watch is not the limit on how much you get back as text. The plan is.

TicNote sells four tiers, and a device owner starts on the second:

PlanPriceTranscription per month
Free, no device$0300 minutes
Plus, with any TicNote device$0600 minutes
Professional$199 a year1,500 minutes plus the 600 device minutes
Business$399 a year6,000 minutes plus the 600 device minutes

So the watch’s own contribution to the allowance is 300 minutes a month over what anyone gets by signing up with no hardware. Plus also brings 1,500 Shadow Credits a month and 30 document summary requests, for the AI features that work on your transcripts rather than make them.

What an extra hour costs

Professional is the step anyone recording most days will look at. Its $199 a year works out at $16.58 a month for 1,500 extra minutes, which is 25 hours. That is about 66 cents per extra hour of transcription, as long as you use the whole allowance every month.

Daily meetings show where the line falls. An hour a day across 22 working days is 22 hours, or 1,320 minutes, more than twice the included 600 and inside Professional’s 2,100. Two hours a day would pass Professional too.

Against a Plaud recorder

Plaud gives its Plaud Note Pro buyers a free Starter plan of 300 minutes a month. TicNote’s included 600 is double that. For someone who records a weekly team meeting and the odd interview, that difference can be the whole subscription.

The form is the other difference. A Plaud recorder sticks to a phone or clips to clothing. The TicNote Watch is on your wrist all day, with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen that shows the transcript live, and a double press of its button makes a voice memo of up to 60 seconds. It also tracks sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and workouts, which no card recorder does.

The allowance is not tied to the watch. TicNote’s own recorders come with the same 600 minutes: the TicNote AI Voice Recorder at $159.99, with 64 GB and a rated 25 hours of battery, and the Lite at $129.99. If you want the transcripts but already wear a watch you like, either one is the cheaper way into the same plan.

Mobvoi’s accuracy figure, 98 percent or better across 17 languages with under 1.5 seconds of delay, is its own claim. Nobody has tested the watch’s microphones independently yet. Dual microphones on a wrist, picking up voices three to five meters away by Mobvoi’s account, face a harder job than a recorder lying on the table.

Phone calls and the people on them

The release says the watch records “two-way phone calls”. It says nothing about consent. In several US states, California among them, everyone on a call must agree before it is recorded, and many countries have similar rules. Tell the other person before you press the button, whatever the watch allows.

What Mobvoi has not said

The announcement and TicNote’s pages leave out the details a buyer checks next:

  • water resistance, and battery life as a watch when it is not recording
  • which phones it works with, and whether it runs Wear OS like Mobvoi’s TicWatch range
  • when the $199 offer ends, and which countries get it
  • whether the 600 included minutes last for the life of the device

Which plan to budget for

Within the included allowance, the watch is the whole cost. An hour of meetings every working day means budgeting $199 a year for Professional on top of the $249 watch. Either way, check that it pairs with your phone before ordering, because Mobvoi has not yet published that list.
